Who we are
CoroutineLab makes the Sky Ribbon app (WeatherWise on Google Play) and runs this website. The app is free, with optional paid features. Contact: coroutinelab@gmail.com.
This website
Analytics and cookies
We count page views and clicks (for example, how many people tap the Google Play badge) with PostHog, hosted in the EU. It runs without cookies or other storage on your device, page addresses are sent without any query string This website sets no cookies and collects no personal details.
Your local weather
To show the weather where you are, your browser asks GeoJS for an approximate city from your IP address, then asks Open-Meteo for the forecast and air quality at that city's coordinates, rounded to about a kilometre. Neither request carries anything else about you. The result is kept in your browser for 15 minutes so the page does not ask again, and none of it is sent to our analytics. If the lookup fails, the page shows London.
Fonts
Our fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts, so loading a page does not contact Google.
Hosting
The site is served by Firebase Hosting, which receives standard request information such as your IP address to deliver the pages.
The app
Location
Your location is used on your device to fetch the forecast for where you are. We do not collect it.
Log data
If the app hits an error, third-party services may collect log data such as your device's IP address, device name, operating system version, the app's configuration, and the time and date of use.
Third-party services
The app uses Google Play Services, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, each under its own privacy policy. Weather data comes from Open-Meteo and RainViewer.
Cookies
The app does not use cookies itself. Third-party code in it may use them to collect information and improve their services.
Security
We use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, but no method of sending or storing data over the internet is completely secure.
Children
Sky Ribbon is not aimed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
